Neighbours

Yesterday was a  mixed success story for the blog & the mug tips.  The only fixture in the premier league on Sunday is the fiercely contested north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal.

Tottenham V Arsenal

Derby matches are normally hard fought and tight contests but if you look at the history of this fixture you will soon see there is normally goals in this match.  Nine of the last ten matches between these teams have seen three or more goals.  The fixture on Sunday shapes up to be just as entertaining and exciting.  Spurs come into this match with four wins in their last five and averaging nearly two goals per game.  Strangely many thought they would struggle when Defoe got injured but the decision by AVB to move Gareth Bale into a more central role has proved to be a stroke of genius.   He has averaged just over a goal per game in their last five matches and the media has suddenly labelled Spurs a one man team.  Their goals has been increasing through the season from just over one goal per match to currently being two goals per match.  Their opponents Arsenal have been in mixed form of late with three wins and two defeats in their last five.  Part of their recent issue has been they have averaged just over a goal per game recently and have conceded at exactly the same rate.  Looking at their away record they have scored and conceded in four of their last five and if you look at their seasonal average they have only just averaged over one goal per away match.  Looking at the historically results in this match Spurs have only lost once in the last five matches.  My suggestion is that this match should contain goals and I believe Spurs will take some points from this match but might be forced to accept a draw.

ANYTIME SCORERS:  Gareth Bale @2.34 & Theo Walcott @3.35

Thanks for reading and good luck !!
