This Saturday sees a depleted premier league fixture list due to the f.a cup also taking place. And strangely most of the Saturday fixtures feature teams in the relegation area of the league. This could be a crucial weekend for these teams and this could lead to these matches being very tense.
Norwich V Southampton
Last weekends defeat away at Old Trafford brought a halt to a mini recovery for Norwich. But this recovery was not brilliant as there has only been one victory in these matches. They face a Southampton team that after last weekends defeat at home to QPR now find themselves well and truly back in the relegation dog fight. Mauricio Pochettino now finds his team only three points off the bottom three but in truth recent fixtures has not been kind, they have had trips to Old Trafford & St.James Park. Overall I believe Norwich will avoid defeat but it may well be another home draw for the Canaries.

Qpr V Sunderland
After last weekends surprise victory at Southampton Qpr are still clinging on to a hope of avoiding relegation and making the great escape. They face a Sunderland team that are once again in a real form slump in the league and desperately in need a couple more wins to stop being dragged into a relegation battle. Qpr have suffered two defeats in their last five these came against Swansea and Manchester United. The stock result for Qpr under Harry Redknapp has been draws but the lack of goals has been their main problem. This problem may well have been answered with the return to fitness of Loic Remy. Sunderland have had a very poor season by the high hopes they had coming into the season and despite several mini recoveries they have continually found themselves being dragged back to the lower half of the league. Harry Redknapp must have identified this match as another chance to collect maximum points and if they can it would put them really back in contention. I believe they will get points out of this match but sadly I believe it may well only be another draw.

Reading V Aston Villa
After a fine run of form in January/February Reading are now well and truly in a form slump. The home defeat to Wigan may prove to be a massive turning point in their season. They face in Aston Villa another team firmly involved in the relegation dog fight. And unusually for Aston Villa they come into a match in slightly better form than their opponents. This match could go either way with it being a tight affair between two teams afraid of defeat or it could be explosive as both teams come out pushing for the three points. Both of these teams however have found they are most productive in front of goal in the second half of matches. I would be happy to predict goals in this match but I would be torn between a draw or home win in the match result.

West Brom V Swansea
This is a battle between two teams that have found mid table security and the question mark will be how hungry they are to try and improve on their league position between now and the end of the season. Swansea have won a cup and are now safe, motivation has often been a problem for teams winning the league cup. With examples being Liverpool last season and Birmingham City the year before hand. The face a West Brom team that started on a mini form recovery recently and only narrowly losing away to a indifferent Chelsea side. The trend for Swansea away matches this season are they have been low scoring and often only the odd goal separating the teams. Whilst this in contrast with West Brom who have seen over two goals or more in over half of their home matches. My thoughts on this match is that Swansea could well take a point from this match if their mindset is correct. This could well be a close match and goals may well come later in this match as both teams tend to be more expansive in the second half.
